"There are ways to win this."
"Let the game begin."

Niteman Speaks!

Today, as promised, a full feature film ... the horror classic from 1959, House on Haunted Hill. One of my favorite parts in this movie is when the ugly old woman floats past Nora Manning down in the basement. [If you haven't seen the movie or you just want to watch that part again, it is here is Part 3.]

One of my favorite actors from classic horror is Vincent Price. Maybe you remember him from other classics like House of Wax, The Tingler, The Abominable Dr. Phibes, Theater of Blood or possibly Witchfinder General, which was one of his best I think.

However, some of the younger folks may remember Vincent Price from Dead Heat or Edward Scissorhands, which are a couple of his last screen performances ... but I believe that it is his movies in the 50's, 60's and 70's that are his best.

» More information about Vincent Price available at
Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Turn out the lights and enjoy the movie!

Edgar Allen Poe's The Raven - A Dramatic Interpretation by Vincent Price

Use the following link if you have a problem with the above video.
--Link--

Niteman Speaks!

Today's little bit of horror comes from a movie called 'The Raven'...starring those icons of horror Vincent Price, Boris Karloff and Peter Lorre. This movie is really considered a black comedy, and although there is no blood and gore, it is thoroughly entertaining. I have included the theatrical trailer and a few of my favorite movie clips to give you a taste of the movie if you have been so unfortunate as to have not seen this classic.

Fans of the movie will be interested in the included information about NECA's 12 inch action figure of Vincent Price as Erasmus Craven.

I hope everyone is getting in the mood for Halloween by decorating at home and at the office. More 'horror' to come in the following days as we approach All Hallow's Eve.

Tomorrow, I will be posting a full length horror classic in black & white. One of my all-time favorites.

Watch this blog for information of a Sideshow Contest coming up on Friday of this week!

"Don't Call Me Ygor!"

Dwight Iliff Frye (February 22, 1899 – November 7, 1943) was an American stage and screen actor, noted for his appearances in the classic horror films Dracula, Frankenstein, Bride of Frankenstein, and The Invisible Man.

For more information on Dwight Frye, his life and his movies, check Wikipedia, the free Encylcopedia.

"Coming Master!"

From the original 1931 Universal release of the movie Frankenstein comes this 12 inch figure of Dwight Frye as Fritz. He was Dr. Frankenstein's hunchbacked lab assistant. You might remember that it was his fault that the Monster had such a terrible temper. Fritz went to steal a 'normal brain' and came back with an 'abnormal brain'.

Sideshow Collectibles produced this figure and it is now out of production and hard to find.

This figure has over 20 points of articulation and features the likeness of Dwight Frye. It comes with a highly detailed cloth outfit, a brain with jar (label says NORMAL BRAIN), short walking stick and stone textured foot base.

A collector could not go wrong with this addition to their collection for the low price of $40.00. It has sold for much more on eBay.

"Halloween" - Poster Art

Here's an interesting bit of trivia:
Don Post Studios created the original Michael Myer's mask in 1978.
The infamous mask used in the movie was a modified version of a "Captain Kirk" mask based on a foam master of William Shatner's head. Now that's scary!!!
